There are two airports on Tenerife: Tenerife-South (TFS) and Tenerife-North (TFN). Most planes arriving from Germany land in Tenerife-South. Due to the closeness to the harbour of Los Crisianos this is the preferred destination. Flights starting from many European airports and airlines land on Tenerife.	The airport of La Gomera - located in the South near Santiago - is laid out for inter-insular flights only. Despite of this fact you find more information on this at the bottom of this page.

The airport on La Gomera was inaugurated in 1999, but it was not designed for international flights. The airport was financed with subsidies on a scale of millions by the EU, but is hardly important for the inter-insular traffic. The few persons one meets at the airport mostly go there to take a coffee at the bar in the airport, not to fly.	As yet, one flight between Tenerife-North and Gomera is being offered daily.
